Gaza agreement disputed.. Hamas submitted a new request and Israel too

It seems that US President Joe Biden's efforts, which have been ongoing for months, to reach a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and a prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas will not bear fruit soon.

There has been disappointment within the corridors of the US administration regarding reaching an agreement before the upcoming presidential elections on November 5, and achieving an important achievement in Biden's record.

As Washington begins to reassess its next steps regarding a transitional agreement it put on the negotiating table in recent weeks, under the slogan “take it or leave it,” according to US officials.

New request

The reason is that Hamas has made a new request regarding Palestinian prisoners that Israel will release, according to the Washington Post. A senior American official revealed that the two sides had initially agreed that Israel would release Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences in exchange for Hamas releasing Israeli soldiers.
