Europe confirms "Iran transferred missiles to Russia"... Tehran denies

The issue of Iran transferring ballistic missiles to Russia has returned to the forefront again.

The European Union revealed today, Monday, that its allies have intelligence information indicating that Tehran has supplied Moscow with ballistic missiles.

He also warned of new sanctions on Tehran if the shipments were confirmed.

"We are aware of reliable information provided by allies regarding the delivery of Iranian ballistic missiles to Russia," EU spokesman Peter Stano said, according to Reuters.

"Psychological warfare"

However, the Iranian response was not delayed, as the senior leader of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Fazlollah Nozari, considered these reports to be merely "psychological warfare." For his part, the Kremlin, in response to a question about this information, simply said that Iran is a partner of Russia, adding that the two countries are developing cooperation and dialogue in all areas, without denying or confirming that it had received ballistic missiles

Russian-Ukrainian war

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani also denied on Sunday his country's involvement in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, saying that Tehran "has never been part of the war between Russia and Ukraine." He stressed that his country has supported a political solution and bilateral negotiations since the beginning of the war.

This came after the United States informed its allies that it believes that Tehran has transferred short-range ballistic missiles to Moscow for use in its war in Ukraine, according to what two informed sources revealed on Saturday to the Associated Press.

While the White House refused to confirm the issue of the arms transfer, it reiterated its concern that Iran is deepening its support for Russia.

It is noteworthy that Washington has warned Tehran for months against transferring ballistic missiles to Moscow. National Security Council spokesman Sean Savitt said in an earlier statement that "any transfer of Iranian missiles to Russia would represent a dramatic escalation in Iran's support for Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine."
